looking to buy RS4 - need some insight on history

Post by droll » Thu Feb 17, 2011 2:46 pm

hi folks. i'm residing in m'sia and this is my first post here.

i'm looking at a misano red RS4 (2006 model) that is apparently imported from the UK (from Fontain). the VIN number is: WUAZZZ8E96N900525

i'm wondering if anyone here is the previous owner of this car or knows what has been done to it.

it looks stock but the bonnet has a large section in the middle that seems to have been repainted (quite nicely done but visible to the trained eye). but that is just one concern (on top of the others - coilpack, DRC, carbon buildup, tired looking leather, etc).

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

You best bet would be to contact a UK dealer. Is there a service book? If so, call the dealer who did the last service. Or maybe call Fontain.

You can ring Audi UK directly to check the service schedule and options fitted. It's a premium rate number if I recall. Try Google.

you can call Audi but they will only tell you the service schedule, options and nothing else.
they won't go into the details of the services
"you can be my wingman anytime!"
"bullshit...you can be mine!"

The number I have saved in my mobile for 'Audi History' is 0800 699 888, through the main customer services number I believe.

there is no service booklet in the car. can't even find the owner's manual or the manual for the RNS-E unit.

i think i'll google this a bit and give audi a buzz.

thanks folks.

According to my local dealer, you can not order a original book either. Plenty more cars in the sea 8)
