..
And a few others....

These other quotes look appealing, but IMO it would be best to stay with the Audi product. I would be tempted to call Audi Customer Service 0800 699888 and make them aware of the options and ask if they will reduce the warranty cost down to say £1,200.

I do know that Audi are aware that their warranty cost is out of synch with the rest of the market.
I've spoken directly to the people who administer the 'Audi Extended Guarantee' and their seems to be no room for negotiation. In fact, this is not really an Audi product, it's a 3rd party Warranty provided by Mondial. So, in reality there's no clear benefit in sticking with this product over that offered by others.

One thing though did you check the paperwork reveived with the quote - mine showed the car as being a turbo and up to 30k mile per year so perhaps more room for negotation?
Good spot on the ICE stuff!
The paperwork I received clearly stated 4-Wheel Drive and No Turbo.

I've also reduced the yearly mileage and it made difference to the value of my quotation.

OOPS......I missed a word!

The second statement should have read:

"I've also reduced the yearly mileage and it made no difference to the value of my quotation."

Was in the service department at my local dealers today. Having some warranty issues with the Audi extended.
I asked if they had any experience with other providers? Turns out they have a link through their software to warranty direct for claims. Assume this is the same for all dealers?
It was explained to me that if others were used then i would have to pay and claim back the costs direct with the warranty company. They can / will only work direct with warranty direct for settlements. The will obviously call and get approval with any company on behalf you and I.
Now for the kick in the balls - diagnosis costs are not covered and are the responsibility of the car owner.
Of course this is all on the say so of the service rep.

food for thought ...

Sorry to keep posting on this subject though this latest offer may be of interest to some of you from WD ...

Was offered emissions and airbag cover free of charge (seems standard offer at moment). Was also offered sat nav and I.C.E for free (was £50 extra), 90 wear and tear period waived and 0% interest on monthly payments on a month to month rolling contract all for £750. Of course this was only if i was to go ahead now

Didnt phone up to do a deal just confirm a few things, they got fairly pushy in the end. Im liking it though...

Also worth noting that my policy is quoted in the documents as "NEW Extra Care"
How that differs to Luxury im not sure.

See here.. http://www.warrantydirect.co.uk/summary_m.html

Luxury Care would appear to be better for the items covered by the 'Mechanical and Electrical Parts and Labour' section.

When it comes to diagnostics I'm not too bothered, because I have VAG-COM......and 'I'm not afraid to use it'

I have been looking for that summary for ages! Im so blind, it right there on the main page! thanks. Wonder why i wasnt offered it? 06 car perhaps?

Regarding diagnostics - I asked WD and they said they do cover the cost so a nice bonus there - again im blind as it says covered in the summary page you linked to.

Sorry

Don't be sorry, it's always the obvious things that 'we' miss!

The WD summary states (quite clearly) that 'Luxury Care' can only be started when the Maximum Age of the vehicle is 4 Years Old. Now this could be open to some interpretation; but I assume they mean that the vehicle has to be less than 4 years old. Hence, why you've only been offered 'Extra Care' for your '06 Car.

Excellent result. I have been promoting the concept of the Audi warranty (with reservations on price) but this is a great alternative.

Fingers crossed - time will tell.

I have been having problems with the extended audi one as looks like they wont cover my seat issue (bolsters not inflating) - long story.
Hence why i flat right refuse to pay top whack for something that has as many grey areas as 3rd party warranties. IMO of course.
