Have seen your list kris, I have owned 5 of your cars (& still own 3).

Leaving the RS4 out, which one of the rest was the best drive...?
I would say its a tough choice between the Type-R and the Mini GP. Both absolute blasts to drive. The Civic I had a fast road setup plus larger Rear ARB which made a big difference. The GP was great straight out of the box.

Which 3 do you still own?

I must keep my cars a long time in comparison to most...

I also have a rule that the incoming car/bike must always have equal or more horsepower than the outgoing one...

Cars:

JDM Celica GT4 ST185 - 230hp (Turned upside down, so....)
JDM Celica GT4 ST185 - 230hp (Got another one! :biggrin3:)
Audi S2 - 230hp (5 pot audio....sublime.)
Audi B7 RS4 - 420hp (Ostensibly the best car I'll ever own?)
Audi B5 S4 - 550hp (VMAX Monster in the making....following in Dougs 2008 footsteps...)

Bikes:

Kwakka ZXR750 J1 (What a fantastic front end!)
Kwakka ZX12R A1 (197mph @ RAF Woodbridge through the lights. 193mph in the wet.)

Now looking for a bored out 12R...

+1
I like to call it natural progression
(With the exception of my winter hack but that was never going to be a long term car so doesn't really count)

Problem now is what on earth do I replace the RS4 with in a few years time?

Well, one your going to meet shortly on a liitle road trip shortly  & the other two are the ST3 (in a bright colour...) & the TTR (with the Pole Position Racaro's).

I thought you was going to say the DC2...I had one of the first UK Integra Type R's.

Absolutely the nuts. I did nearly 80k in the 2 years. It felt completely unbreakable. On the track, there was not too much competition...

Bit of an old skool Ford escort fan in my early days. Changed to the Lotus Sunbeam when the crappy fwd MK3 escorts came out.
Mk1 Escort 1300 Sport
Mk2 Escort 1300 sport
Mk2 Escort RS2000
Mk2 Escort 1600 Sport
Mk2 Escort RS2000
Mk2 Escort Mexico
Mk1 Escort Mexico (Steel big-wing) A stunner. My first real modded car,I'd love to get it back.
Talbot Sunbeam lotus (Avon model No.33) The most fun of all my cars, fantastic. Owned for 9 years.
Talbot Sunbeam Lotus (Avon model No.99)
TVR 400 SE A reliable one, owned for 6 yrs and never once broke down! Sounds almost as good as the RS4 with Milltek!
VW Passat 1.9TDI Estate. Great reliable workhorse, did 90000 miles and never missed a heartbeat!
Audi A4 Avant 3.0TDI Great car all round. Superb V6 engine, 45+mpg easily.
Subaru Impreza 22B; (current) Awesome, meant to sell it when i bought the RS but couldn't do it! Better than money in the bank!
Audi RS4 Avant Ibis White (current) What can I say that you don't know already!

This list may soon have an addition (!)as my father is consdering selling his mint, , original 3dr RS Sierra Cosworth. Its a white one which is definitely the best colour for the car (I'm not biased!) He's owned it since it was 6months old and I would hate to see it go elsewhere so I think I'll probably buy a 'half share' in it at the moment and allow us to keep it in the family.
Current;
Porsche 997.1 GT3RS. Pure Orange, ceramics, etc, Sharkwerks exhaust
BMW 2002 restomod; Turbo body kit, S14 M3 Evo engine and lots more
Audi Q3 Black edition Quattro

Previously enjoyed;
Ibis White B7 RS4 Avant : TTS Supercharged 615ps/614 nm
Subaru Impreza 22B
Noble M400
TVR 400SE
Lotus Sunbeam Avon

So......

Started off with a 1991 J reg VW Polo Fox mk 2, 1.0 in green - absolute beast! wrote it off, repaired and never missed a beat ! I was only 17!

Then, first proper car, 2004 Audi A2 1.4 TDI Sport, brand spankers new as a company car - amazing car!

Once I finished Uni earned some proper money, bought this...

2001 1.8T 163 Sport, I was only 22 so it did me nicely

Image

Image

After 2 years, I was earning more money, moved jobs and decided a new, faster, car was needed....I went for this

2005 TT quattro Sport, 1.8T 240 - but remapped to 265

Image

and it has recaro PP 8)

Image

Great car, but a bit of a PITA for a daily drive....

Then I found RS246

P/x'd the TT for this :

2003 RS 6

Image

What a beast ! I then sold it to someone on here, as I was after a convertible for a summer adventure

Ended up buying this for a small bargain

2004 S4 quattro

Image

S4 was ok, but wasnt a convertible, so moved that on and got this

2005 S4 quattro Cabriolet

Image

Now, the S4's were ok, and I had a great sunny trip to cornwall with the roof down which I'll not forget in a long time (with the Milltek non res  )

But, they didnt have any turbo's !

So I got this

2003 RS 6

Image

Image

Absolutely loved this car! took it to Munich and back ! what a beast

Now, at the time, my employers provided me with an interest free loan for a car, so I foolishly thought it would be a good idea to run an eco car alongside the beast, so I had these at the same time

2001 A2 1.4 SE

Image

and the most amazingly spec'd Wasp (had more spec than my RS 6)

Image

Image

Finally came to my senses and got rid of the A2's, sold the RS 6 and bought one of my dream cars...

Image

Sadly, this is now being sold.....current company car is a Golf

next up is a SEAT Exeo 2.0TDI 170

then, this ! but a black edition

1999 VW golf Mk4 1.6 S
2003 Mini Cooper S
2005 Audi A3 2.0 TDI
2004 VW R32 Mk4

Past Cars

Post by caldy » Fri May 14, 2010 8:24 am

This is gonna give you a big hint as to how old I am...........

Vauxhall Viva - test pass car
Ford Cortina 1600E
Ford twin-cam Escort - Alan Mann racing colours, fantastic
Lotus Europa twin-cam - built as a kit car
Morris Marina - company car
Ford Cortina 2.0 Estate - company car
Vauxhall Astra GTE
Porsche 911 SC
Ford Capri 3.0S
Nissan Sunny GTiR - absolute hoot
Ford Escort Mexico
Ford Sapphire Cosworth
Ford Escort Cosworth
Alfa Romeo 145 Cloverleaf
Mercedes 300D Estate
BMW 330d - remapped and very quick
BMW 120d
Nissan Micra
Audi RS4 B7

I might even have forgotten 1 or 2 in there somewhere. For the last 18 years, also owned and restored to concours a magnificent Jaguar V12 E Type Roadster but she went to make way for the RS4.

My cars were often chosen, and still are, to suit dog-carrying, hence the Micra as an everyday runner for the labrador. Sadly, he's getting old so won't be here much longer, hence more usage of the RS4 in future.

98 VW Golf mk IV 1.4 (yes really...sloooow)
00 VW Golf mk IV GTi 1.8T (actually wasn't bad after a remap)
51 Audi S3 225 (later got 40bhp more from the original AmD - loved that car)
04 Audi S4 B6 V8 Avant (had AmD fettle and Milltek cats/cat back - sounded like a NASCAR)
06 Audi RS4 Saloon (not surprisingly best of the lot - especially after the full MRC treatment)
