Wing mirrors fold in?

Post by weenie » Tue Mar 23, 2010 6:36 pm

Hi, im new to the forum. Looking to buy my first RS4 Avant. Need to know if the wing mirrors can be manually folded in. Im worried it may be a little tight with boths wings mirrors out when tryin to access my garage.

Your help would be great. The owner of the car I veiwed today seemed to think they would not fold in. I find this hard to belive, but I did not want to start forcing them.

Many Thanks for any help,

Ed

If they are the RS mirrors then no they will not fold in, they are fixed. but do have a "pop out" feature connected by wire, incase of a accident or theft.

You can however have the fold in mirrors, but these look different. cant find any pics at the moment, but they are more square that rounded.

..and welcome to the forum.

Auto-dimming rear view mirror, with light and rain sensors and coming-home function
(headlights remain on for a fixed period after key is removed from ignition)
• • • £170.21 £200.00
Door-mirror housings in body colour • • • £72.34 £85.00
Door-mirrors – electrically folding – – • £102.13 £120.00
Door-mirrors – auto-dimming and folding. Only in combination with auto-dimming rear view mirror – – • £289.36 £340.00

From the spec guide, they look similar to the cab mirrors.

The fold-in mirrors are "normal" A4/S4 style mirrors and not the RS-specific mirrors - which are fixed.

Hey Richie82. I see you bought the one MLA had up for sale 8)
I actually went for a testdrive in it (dont worry, I didn't ruin it ), but decided to buy the Sedan that SMC Holbæk had in their lot (Also an Avus silver if that ring any bells). Actually liked the look of a Sedan after owning several Audi Avants.
Lovely cars.

Don't worry they gave me a 1 year guarantee (which i already have had usage of, radiator leaked)

Yes i saw the one in Holbæk but i only wanted the RS in avant. Didn't the one in SMC have a milltek exhaust or do i remeber wrong?

I'm very satisfied with the car, had an M3 E46 cab. so it's was a bit tough decision since they are so different.

Jeg er ovenud tilfreds med bilen, havde haft BMW cab i 4 år så ville prøve noget nyt, MLA gav så en go byttepris så jeg kunne ikke afslå, bor du i KBH?

Nope no Milltek but thinking about buying one.
Ja, jeg bor på Østerbro.
