Bye bye RS4, hello...

After two and a bit years of happy RS4 ownership, I've got all grown up. A bit. The need for a bit more space and an itch for a change has resulted in me buying a totally different kind of car. It's quieter, bigger and lazier, but still fun on normal A roads and motorways. I'm not expecting it to be quite the blast on twistier stuff, obviously.

I've learnt a lot of stuff on this forum and enjoyed reading and contributing, so thanks for that. I'll still be hanging around, not least because the C6 RS6 forum is a bit, you know, quiet.

Nice car, although similar in principle (fast luxury estates) the rs6 really is a giant next to the rs4!

Are you going to get it remapped? Heard of some crazy figures!

I hadn't appreciated that the RS6 was 'that' much bigger. Defo. a saloon for me then when I change.

What a lovely pic. Interesting what Sonny says about the RS4 looking dated. With those shoulders sticking out I think it still looks mean and kind of fresh, mainly as its different from a std A4. I dont like the RS5 front lights, the dont taper at all...
Lusting after and RS4.

I admit, there is quite a lot of exaggeration of the size difference there, an optical illusion caused by the 6 being parked out of the bay, I suppose. It's only about a foot longer in fact.

I have to agree with you there. The RS4 definitely has a more 'butch' look to it. Don't get me wrong, I love the blistered arches' nod to the ur Quattro on my new car, but still love the arches on the 4.

I didn't want to hear that. my garage will only accomodate a car 8 inches longer, if it is 12 I'm knackered! No 40th Birthday present for me!

Someone on here (Condor?) was running one with 700hp I think, although I'm happy with 572 for the time being. However, if I get some Millteks...

Surprised you bought your new car in the same colour as your old one, thought you'd have wanted a change ?

Looking round the Audi dealership this morning (MOT passed 8) ) have to say I much prefer the chiselled B7 looks, aside from the R8 didn't warm to most of the rather bland smoothed new cars ?

Have to agree, a lot of the current audi range look too bloated (the r8 excluded) and could quite easily go on a diet.

IMO with the facelift indicators the rs4 is better looking and as fresh as any Audi in the current range. It is elegant and unfussy, which is at contrary to Audis current obsession with flashy wheels, tacky LED lights and over the top detailing - all very try hard.

But in fairness to OP, your spec is nice and restrained which makes it a rather handsome beast.
