3 yr old RS4 with 48000 miles and I never thought I'd had any real problems with the DRC shocks. On my 1st MOT a few weeks ago (and 3 weeks before end of warranty) was done by an Audi dealer. They suggested some leaking on both front shocks and that all should be replaced under warranty.
I'd never really had any problems with knocking or squeaking and the suspension felt no softer than id be expecting after 3 yrs.
New shocks felt great and definitely firmer, but 4 weeks later they are knocking and squealing like ive never heard before. It sounds as though at least 3 of the 4 are guilty. I thought they'd fixed this by now - is it bad fitting or can they simply not produce the parts well enough. I'll be playing hell with my dealer tomorrow and obviously get it covered under warranty.
My old ones were certainly never this bad - even after 3 years.

DRC - thought I was the lucky one. I was wrong!!
Makes sense to get the car MOTed prior the warranty running out - thats what I'm planning.
Let us know how you get on with Audi. I thought the replacement DRC shocks were modified? Maybe I was wrong. Hopefully its just that the dealer hasn't charged system right or maybe hasn't insured all connections are tight.

DRC has a 5 year warranty on it anyway so don't worry too much about coming up to 3 years. When I had mine done, the dealer openly admitted that they struggle with RS cars because so many owners take them out of the dealerships (I wonder why!) and into specialists as soon as they can. Therefore they don't get much opportunity to practice on them!
Chances are they've fitted it badly and no charged the system. For e.g. when I booked mine in they said 'in and out in a day, no problem!'. Only when I asked them to check with Audi technical (as I'd heard it was an overnight job) did they say 'oh yeah, thanks for telling us'.
As soon as my Used warranty finishes it'll straight into MRC (maybe before actually) and then probably Unit 20 (they're good aren't they?) for servicing. I'd rather have someone who's passionate about the V8 doing the work than chaps who are just grateful to see one so that they can practice!
