Rear shelf vibrating when music playing.

Post by RS4_Nick » Mon Aug 17, 2009 3:38 pm

Hi all

I noticed recently that when playing certain tracks I get distortion coming from the back of the car.
I was pretty convinced the speaker had blown but on close inspection it appears that the parcel shelf vibrates when the sub-woofer hits certain frequencies. If I apply pressure on the shelf then it cures the problem.

Questions:
Is this simply a loose shelf or does it need packing out with something like Dynomat?

Will Audi sort it under warranty? :D

Thanks

Nick

I used Dynomat for that. Stuck bits wherever I could under the grill and inside the boot under the shelf too. I swapped out the original speaker for a Pioneer sub and new amp and the Dynomat has worked out pretty well.
