Post by sckrs4 » Wed Jul 29, 2009 3:01 pm

Hi There
Any idea why the RS4 b7 never made it on to the Power Lap board on the Top Gear Track?

Only the following are listed:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/show/powerlaps.shtml

Audi R8 1.24.4
Audi S4 1.30.9
New Audi TT 1.31.4

Just Emailed TopGear.. Lets see what they say: If they want I am sure there are plenty of B7 here and lets put a good spec for hire for Stig.

My estimate is around 1.24.9 or 1.25.2 based on the R8 lap record.

I'm sure I saw it in the last series just under the R8 with a low 1.25s lap

Well according to SR71's link above (8th post down on that link), it was 1.25.4 no?

That is only a second slower than the R8, so mightily impressive..

Not that hard! I had an R8 for a week and don't think you can push it as hard on British A roads as the RS4. Hand on heart Even if there wasn't £40k difference to pay I don't think I'd swap my RS for an R8.

New GTR?? Now that's a different story all together, all I will say is I went out in one for the first time last week and OMG..... forget everything else you will loose to it. mind you this one was running 610bhp
Current car..... hmmmmm????

If you youtube the top gear episode of the rs4 v climbers, one of them (cant remember which) has a few minutes of jeremy etc talking after the main piece of filming and he go's on to say it was faster around the track with the stig than a cayman s? this puts it about 125.1 from memory.
Unfortunatly it was never put on the board.

1:25.6

http://www.fastestlaps.com/track1.html

Times do not include the cars they have put round this series. That new Audi S4 looked handy tonight, I know the Bathurst S was 1:26.3, I wouldn't imagine the S4 was a million miles away from that if not faster?
