There are a number of checks you should perform BEFORE a dyno run ... just as one example ... how's your air filter ..new or old ?

All these items add up to a poor result ...

feel for you dude... been keeping my eye out for dyno results on here and appears your not alone as alot of cars seem to perform 40-50 bhp down on spec. Really annoying. I still think that rs4's just dont get on with dyno's but thats just me. The power issue is the only thing that has stopped me buying one- great car otherwise

Had mine done, week after service, 343bhp.
I still think its something to do with electronics, dynos unable to measure correct power.

1. Poor fuel ie OLD and or not high octane.
2. Not sports mode
3. Traction control not off
4. Lights on, including DRL
5. Air con not off
6. Poor battery condition
7. Stuck Exhaust valves at rear
8. Vacuum leak
9. Retarded ignition due to 'miss daisy' driving
10. Flapper valve stuck in airbox
11. Oil condition, plus how regularly this has been changed
12. Incorrect tyre pressure
13. Strapped tight to the RR
14. Not align on the RR
15. Overly hot
16. I could go on ...

Surely that isn't acceptable? Thant is nearly 80 down on posted figures! (Or is this just normal? New to these cars so not really aware yet of their foibles)

You may be better searching through the threads Lorimer, it is quite common that dyno's do not produce the goods power wise regarding these cars but actual 0-60 and 0-100 times are near enough spot on with the same cars.

Did they have the air meter attached, I know that Charley at SRR has these disabled, sorry to read about your low BHP read out, BTW did you try to run the car in 3rd gear and with 'S' on and off?

I know there are many variables that can contribute to a low read out ,but i made all the checks possible , i dont have vag-com so i couldnt do a power flap test , I usually run on shell vpower or bp ultimate and Shell Helix Ultra VX 5w/30 ... the lights were off so was the aircon and radio! in fourth gear only ,the car was allowed to cool for an hour ,then warmed up to normal running temp before the run ...im gonna try and post up a copy of the graph shortly ...

That plot doesn't look right, it flat lines after approx 5500-6000rpm, similar to klausters at paramount.
Can't offer an answer i'm afraid

Hmmmmm! An all to common site these days! Looks like the classic problem of the engine being starved of air so you don't get the "powerband" at 5k. When driving the car do you feel like you get a real kick at 5k or does it feel smooth all the way up to red line?

Any chance of posting a larger picture hard to see the numbers along the bottom.
Current car..... hmmmmm????
