New Owner - think a sensors on the blink....

Post by BERGS2 » Thu Mar 05, 2009 1:37 pm

...Hi Guys - well - Ive rackup up a fair few miles in the beast since picking it up last weekend, and stumbled on my first problem. :(

Cruising home from work last night - doing about 50 on the A3 (it was wet) the EPC light and traction control light come on and the car went into what I can only assume was a 'limp home' engine map....

pulled over within 1/4 mile or so and turned the engine off.

restart - no issues no wanting lights and the full 414 horses on tap...

assume this is a wheel speed sensor or similar?

Should i call audi assist or just run it to a local dealer for diagnosis?

anyone else experienced similar?

ta in advance!

See if it happens again.

Do a check with VAG-COM and see what intermittent fault(s) were logged.

Could be any one of many sensors, not just a wheel sensor. Since it was wet I wonder if some water spray got into an electrical connection?

You need to buy VAG-com. Either find a fellow RS246 member with VAG-com and ask for assistance or goto your local dealer. I assume the car is under warranty so no issues either way,.

Just ran into similar problems a couple of weeks back. The error turned out to be "Brake Switch Failure: Intermittent".

The workshop swapped out the switch located on upper end of the brake pedal and for the last couple of weeks it has been OK.
