Hi Bergs and welcome.
My wife is 8 months pregnant at the moment and still gets in and out ok. she is a size 8 though so as someone else said it may be harder if she is a bigger lady, however the most import thing is this!!!!
If your wife really loves you there is no way in the world she would stop you having the real seats in your RS4!
Buckets are a must and are very comfy IMO
good luck
Jim

The issue is in the back, not the front. If you plan to have no kids or just one in a rear facing baby seat then fine. Anything bigger, and you might run into rear legroom issues with buckets - unless the driver / passenger is very short!

Its not that bad in the back with buckets. Its is tight I admit but our family with two six foot boys get on okay with the car.

My wife is also 8 months preggers, and we have no problem, I also have two boys already - 20 months and 7, and forsee no problems in the future seat wise with the buckets. Like Jim though, my wife is only shortand size 8, and Im under six foot.
If I wanted to be practical I would have got an A6.........

How you planning on getting three child seats in the rear (assuming she doesn't have twins or triplets or...)?

I found fatherhood was a good excuse to trade in the S3 for an RS4 Avant, can't think of anything that could do the job better (ie haul stuff and still be very fun to drive) for similar money. Seatwise we have the buckets and get on fine, room in back obviously depends on how tall you are. 5' 11" and a 5' 6ish mrs and there's sufficient room, not loads but sufficient.
Having said that if Id specced the car from new I'd probably to with the "normal" seats for ultimate practicality, they're probably more Grandparent friendly too! You would of course miss out on the cool S button squeezing you in when pressed.....
Bootwise we've got a stupidly big base on a M+P pram thing ( not my choice I was brought in too late on the decision) and it fits in fine, it doesn't in an A3 or Ford Focus for comparison.
End of the day she's only pregnant for a few months at a time! Get it done, it's got to be one of the performance bargains of the day at the moment.........
Hope that helps.

The law states that with two child seats in the car, you don't need a third, if it doesn't fit, plus my 7 year old is nearly at the minimum height for going withoutout. Obviously if all my children were younger I would have to think again!

So it's two child seats plus a booster cushion then?

Thankfully (in my opinion) they don't all have that white piping. The armrest is a nice option to have although luckily it folds up out of the way, as it impedes gear changes a bit.

By the way, that is the first time I've ever seen those words together.

Nope, you don't need anything, I'll look for the link;
