Hotchkis Upgrade

Post by rs4v8 » Sun Jan 04, 2009 9:58 pm

Thanks to Grizz I have a set of shiny new Hotchkis anti sway bars waiting for me to fit when I get home from work.

Just been reading all the posts about the DRC. My car was in for a service last month and I asked them to check the shocks, the result was, and I quote, " normal weeping" on the front ones.

If I fit the hotchkis anti roll bars, will this give audi a get-out with regards not honouring the warranty due to non-standard parts?

Grateful for any advice

I would ask them to sort the weeping out .. they should not weep .. my dealer changed the seals in the shocks (??) due to slight weeping .. can't see how a roll bar(UK term for sway bar) could be blamed for a weeping shock and therefore void warranty.

I was told it would void it, so ditched it all and went for hotchkis and KW coils.
Much more like it :D

Exactly what SR-71 & myself have been told. They use a really advanced method of holding pictures up of shocks in different states of leakage to diagnose

Hmm, I'll maybe go in and ask the techs. I'd like to think that because the shocks were seen to be leaking a wee bit before I fit the arb's that they'd be cool with it. Home next week with luck so will find out then.

Regs the Kwv3's, the car's on a PCP so major surgery will be a no-no for now unfortunately.

Cheers guys.
