b7 service light reset

can this be done with the vag tool?

or will this not work with a can bus?????

is there a way to reset it thought the dash?

The service light on S4's can be reset on the dash. So imagine the same is possible with a RS4. It will reset the service intervals to Fixed Term. I.e. 12 months. Check the manual for instructions.

It's not in the manual

You'll need VAG-COM to switch between Long Life & Annual, but if you're after a reset -

Ignition off
Hold in the spanner button on dashboard
Turn key to ignition on (not start) while still holding the button
Finally press and hold the trip reset (0.0) button and the service interval should clear in about 5 secs

For fixed intervals you can do it from the dash, but for AVS you have to use VAG-COM or get the dealer to do it with their VAS.

cheers guys, done now, miles and days goes to ../../../ but told this can take 3days or bout 300 miles to sort itself out
