If you download the correct version of the Contact Manager (check there is one first), then you'll probably be OK.Iain_S4 wrote:Does anybody kow if the compatibility issues with Nokia N series phones have been resolved?
Personally I had so much trouble with an N70 (and Nokia's attitude) I won't be darkening Nokia's doors for a very long time.
htc diamond works perfectlywith rns
and the N95 works spot on for my brothers 07 /A8 with this software which you add to the phone. i have not tried it in the rs4 but will next time i see him.

if i remember correctly it will only work with the later version of bluetooth modules.

The A8 and the RS4 use different phone modules.sham wrote:and the N95 works spot on for my brothers 07 /A8 with this software which you add to the phone. i have not tried it in the rs4 but will next time i see him.
IIRC the 8GB N95 is OK with the RS4 (so long as you've loaded the Nokia Contact manager), but I don't think the "standard" N95 is.
spot on PDPetrolDave wrote:The A8 and the RS4 use different phone modules.sham wrote:and the N95 works spot on for my brothers 07 /A8 with this software which you add to the phone. i have not tried it in the rs4 but will next time i see him.

The N95 8Gb compatibility with the RS4 is s**t, in the sense that, even with the "Q" BT module and the Download Manager, you will still only get the Phonebook uploaded to the car.
No "Received Calls" list, no "Last Dialled" list etc etc.
And inspite of posting all over the WWW to get some advice for my problem, I still cannot for the life of me figure out why, even though I store my names in the phone using the standard <Firstname>, <Lastname> fields, when it uploads to the car, it seems to screw up the fields, so that what is displayed on the car Phonebook is the numbers field!
Which is about as much use as a chocolate teapot....unless you happen to have memorized all your bloody numbers and who they belong too!
I give Nokia & Audi 1/10 for managing this situation.
If your RS4 doesn't have the "Q" module, you won't get s**t.

Nokia got so upset at me when I joined in discussions on the Nokia UK Discussion Forum about this issue that they have banned me!
Instead of playing silly bugg..s they should fix the Bluetooth implementation in the Symbian stack they use. Other phone manufacturers don't have this problem (the SE and HTC phones I've owned have been 100%), so IMHO it's just Nokia being lazy and/or arrogant.

are you sure your phone is a 95 8Gb? I'm probably way off the mark but i seem to remember your phone is silver?? I think the 95 8gb phones only come in black??
Looking to buy a Samsung Omnia today but i can't find out anywhere if the handset is compatible with the RS4's BlueTooth.
Mine is retrofit & is the earlier BT Module. My current Nokia N95 connects fine but only allows call out/in with no phonebook etc. I naturally would be happier if this new handset allowed me full functionality.
Checked the Audi website but could find nothing on handset compatibility.
