Some Milltek questions
Hi folks not been in UK for a week, but in cloudy Cyprus, just back a couple of hours ago.
Diggler I am gonna get my head back in gear and check some prices for the total system with the 200 cell downpipes. I am doing a tour round the country next week, reletive visiting, so will go any where to get the best deal and fit. Gonna tie in with Craig to get my voice communication working and dvd as well.

RE: Tubi
I'm seriously considering a Milltek too. Has anybody gone for the full system, or is the Cat-back the better option?
I was thinking valved and resonated, but I like the idea of the pops and crackles. Do you not get this with the resonated (even with valves open)? Would I get this with a non-resonated, but valved exhaust?
How much louder than the resonated pipe is the non-resonated? Is it much louder than the resonated pipe with valves open?
Thanks,
Paul

RE: Tubi
I love my Milltek. Its non res- non valved but i honestly do not find it a problem.
Infact the only downside is people contantly driving just off the rear 3/4 and putting their windows down to listen before grinning & giving me the thumbs up as they pull level!!

I have a mate who happens to be an RS Tech for Audi. He supplied and fitted my Milltek cheaper than I have ever seen it elsewhere. Its cat back (on his advise) non res non valved and it sounds fantastic. When I first got it I thought it was too much a low speed but change up a cog and it sorts itself out.

What will he do it for?SimonFV8 wrote:I have a mate who happens to be an RS Tech for Audi. He supplied and fitted my Milltek cheaper than I have ever seen it elsewhere. I think if i go for one I will have non res valved. I assume that with the valved the flaps open and close as with the oem version up the rev range with s button pressed?

having the valved system cuts down on both the rpm range in which it 'drones' and how load the drone is
a tunnel or high-walled road in 's' mode is quite something....
I thought that was the resonated bit. Ie a non resonated has drone and is louder and the resonated is not so loud but gets rid of drone.OliF-H wrote:CorrectARSEY4 wrote: I think if i go for one I will have non res valved. The oem valve with s pressed is open to something like 3k revs then it closes and opens again further up rev range, I assume that this characteristic is unchanged as it gets its commands from the ecu? Is that not correct?
