Agreed, 150%. And lets not forget, the Atom would annihilate the R8 on a track or the road for that matter. But, and before RM3D points out the obvious, the R8 is a little more practical. So using the same philosophy on the RS4 vs R8. Whats your point RM3D?GardinerG wrote:
Sorry, but I'd have the Atom plus an RS4 instead of the R8.

Given that I just sold my Lotus Exige S to make way (and in order to afford) the RS4, I think I'm perfectly placed to comment on whether or not I miss the extra handling characteristics offered by a light mid-engined sportscar over the RS4.
And to be honest, I don't. Sure, I took the Exige on trackdays and it was an absolute hoot with amazing turn-in and responsiveness. But it also tried to kill me on several occasions, aqua-planed terribly, had no back seats and to honest, on the road, I'm far happier driving the Audi at eight tenths in the knowledge that it isn't trying to kill me.
Both awesome cars, as I'm sure the R8 is, but completely different ownership propositions. Don't really know why they bothered comparing the two, as they are designed for totally different purposes.
