Hi All,
Just a quick question. What were the standard seats in the B7 RS4? I have been shown an example that has seats with a silver mesh insert. Were these an option, if so any good?
Cheers!

RE: Re: RS4 options
mesh or just the perforated leather bits on the side bolsters? if the latter an expensive option (I like it others may not) but do not pay any premium for it
RE: Re: RS4 options
The silver mesh is referred to as "race cloth" in the B7 brochure. It is basically a thick rubber type thread woven into the fabric. This cloth / rubber thread is only used in the center sections of the seat, with the bolsters and headrest in leather.
It first appeared in the B5 RS4 and is referred to as "Hi-tech" in the orginal B5. For me it was a must on the B5 being a skinny lad the orginal B5 seats were very wide and I needed extra grip in the seats. You won't need this for the bucket seats in the B7. You shouldn't need it for the other non-bucket sport seats, while these look similar to the B5 seats they are quite a bit narrower in the bolster width so you get the much need side support for fast cournering

They are the ones. I personally would have liked the full leather but as the misses is very slight these seats will be great for her.Golich wrote:The silver mesh is referred to as "race cloth" in the B7 brochure. I pick the RS4 up on Saturday. I'm quite sad to see the 350z go but needs must and the RS4 is as good as 4 door fast saloons get for me
