There will be no more RS4's of the current model. The next RS model will be the RS6 with the RS5 coming along after that.
The next RS4 will be of the new B8 A4 model which will be launched later this year, of course the B8 RS4 won't be around for another 4 or 5 years.

was told yesterday that the RS5 'will' be E/2008 => B/2009. B/2009 means (apparently) anything up to Mar/April 2009. It seems orders are starting to rack up though - I got no.3 with my dealer and it seems a lot of you guys have orders too.

I'm watching this space on the specs - a Twin Turbo setup would be incredible, although maybe a pipe dream

I'd be very surprised now if the RS5 does have forced induction. If the next RS6 doesn't have the rumoured twin turbo set up (as I heard recently) then I can't see the RS5 having blowers either.

No idea if the RS5 will have forced induction, but everything i've heard/read states the RS6 will most certainly have a turbo or 2 & this should be bolted onto the S8/S6 V10 (niiiice).

The RS5 TBH is likely to either have an S6/S8 engine (S8 power) with no fettling or perhaps a slightly higher tuned RS4/R8 4.2 V8. I've heard nothing factual but that would be my guess.

Both my RS6 & RS5 orders are as firm as they can be & i've the number 1 slot for both, however i think the RS6 will be my preference unless they do something amazing with the RS5, as if the RS5 ends up being basically an RS4 Coupe, then given i've been there, done that i doubt i'd take delivery. Perhaps the C63 will take my fancy after the RS6.

yep, another good option - although Kam has put me off it due to the poor residuals that AMG seem to have

TBH, the C63 may buck the trend as the early rumours lean towards this being a monster of a car. Also it tends to be the ubber AMG's that suffer very harsh depreciation, but when they're costing close to £100K, then a 50% drop in 3 yrs looks bad on paper as it's such a huge chunk of cash, but not much worse in %age terms than any RS or M.

The Little SLK55 is one of the lowest depreciating soft tops in %age terms, however any car nowadays that suffers a drink problem, is gonna get hit harder come resale time.

No different to Preston Audi who are the technical owners of Blackburn Audi. I always laugh, as do Preston Audi when it's me who passes on information as to the rumoured specs & launches etc.

That said, Preston Audi have heard that the RS5 is likely to make production & they took my pre-order last year, although as of yet no money. Unlike the RS6 where they have a confirmed order from me & a few quid, along with a big number 1 on the front of the order form, so no cheeky blighter tries to steel my place in the queue 8)

But an exciting one. Think of it like a blind date.

At least on this blind date, you may just before D-Day get a few piccies of your date & some vital statistics, so can decide nearer your date if she's a supermodel or a munter :D
