Hi guys. I have a RS4 saloon on order which is to be delivered in June. Now I may not want the car, for financial reasons, nothing to do with the car itself.
I have a £1500 deposit with the dealer, which I don't want to lose. I am not a speculator and am not trying to make any sort of profit. If I defo decide I d'ont want the car whats the best way for me to get rid of it with minimal financial hit?
Where/how to sell my RS4 in June??
RE: Where/how to sell my RS4 in June??
best thing to do is to talk to the dealer........ he is the most likely to have a punter for it, and he will need you to register it to avoid being walloped by Audi. Did this with the first of the TT's, didnt ever drive the thing but owned it for a week... dealer moved it on to another buyer for retail money, cost me zip to do it apart from a few beers.

Simple, I've sometimes heard of people 'selling' their slots on to people. This obviously doesn't work as the car needs to be registered to me etc Whats that all about?
I do actually want the car, and can afford to buy it, but can't really afford the £10k hit in value its going to take(so I keep reading anyway) in the first year alone.
Thanks

same position as you fishface, I've decided to give it a miss. Question - why don't you just cancel and get your deposit back? Or have you been told you are too far down the line? I've had my 1500 down since last year but not heard a thing since the memo went round on March 1st...
Like you I am not a speculator, but if someone wants to pay me for either my slot, or a premium for when the car is delivered then I'll happily oblige. Has anyone done this and is it worth it? Ie going ahead and buying the car, advertise it sometime before delivery at a premium and do a 'hand-over' without ever touching it? (I know they would be 2nd owner)
Advice welcome for interest as much as anything.

Why not just do the right thing and give your spot to someone who wants it?.....bobjebb wrote:

sorry but there are genuine people out there who are looking for cancelled slots, and you're here asking if you can make a quick couple hundred quid by buying something you don't want and selling it on at cost.
Tell your dealer you wanna cancel, they'll find a new owner, when they do you'll get your £1500 back, if demand is outstripping supply then the dealer shouldn't have much trouble finding an owner.
RE: Re: RE: Where/how to sell my RS4 in June??
Well, I could suggest that if I spent less time in a business capacity doing the right thing, I'd be a lot richer than I am and would be able to take the RS4 and keep my RS6.
So I don't really have any moral issues to be honest, Jesus it's not like selling Crack. I'm not a fool, and it's not like whoever bought the car without waiting for it wouldn't benefit too. However I If I was asking if I could make a "quick couple hundred quid" I'd be a pretty tragic case. Like I said I'm as much interested in how the process works.
I'm sure I shall simply inform the dealer of my wish to transfer the deposit to either R8 or RS6 and perhaps suggest another buyer to take my place.
