The E46 M3 was and is a great car and as others have said its now being measured by a different benchmark. As far as driving capability it was certainly the leader not to mention other areas....and the engine was a delight. AND for the Audi were the ones doing the chase the horsepower/numbers game with the 4.2 S4 vs E46 M3, that said its a manufacturers game (eg: M5 vs Merc E63), no surprises there :bash:, do we need to talk about naturally aspirated engines...er no :bigblink:

The B7 RS4 here in the US has some deletions compared the the UK model as noted at the New York car show this weekend. Next weekend I'll be driving the RS4 on the road and track (Audi invitation event). Happy to provide some comparative insights if you want vs E46 M3, B5 RS4 etc etc.....

Should be fun :biggrin3:

Riz, the V8 M3 will have the votes of all the mags and journalists. They will go on about how 'adjustable' it is and how great it is to slide the tail around. Funnily enough I don't tend to do that with my family on the public road. I also don't want to be mistaken for the local drug dealer!

I'm sure BMW will make sure the M3 beats the RS4 in the numbers game by just a few % ie BHP/0-60/100 etc
The RS4 is the thinking mans BMW.

If your name's Marcus, you live in a brand new house with a brick drive and no garden, most of your salary is commision, you get our hair done at a salon, and the beer you drink comes out of a bottle, you buy an M3.

If on the other hand, your house was built a lifetime ago and the gravel drive could do with a rake, most of you salary comes from investments, and beer comes in pints from the nearest freehouse, you drive an RS4.

IMO.

Very good.

Perhaps you were refering to Marcus, MD at Fontain? Sells Audi and drives a Z3M I believe.... Not sure of the state of his driveway though.
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.

Names, places etc. etc are purely fictional, any similarity is purely coincidental.

Me too. I kept my head down in the GayMW, but it was a blast. 321bhp in a car that couldn't even accomodate a set of golf clubs.

We all have to sleep with a few tarts before you find the right one and settle down. Of course, if you get bored you can always have the odd affair........ Buy a TVR for a few months, you'll realise how good you really had it, and you'll always come home to the RS4/6.

Jesus, WTF am I talking about.

Come on Bobjebb, get with the show! I haven't owned that ZM Roadster for 3 years. Unadulterated RS fun since then.

Also a note to the Forum bully- I'm quite satisfied with my financial health actually, but it's very kind of you to worry on my behalf. You are sounding more and more like an Audi UK :kissmyrings: employee though.

Bobby boy.......I'm referring to the E46 not the lesser non-golf club accommodating E36
