Titanium wheel refurb and Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 *pics*

Post by sonny » Fri Feb 03, 2012 5:34 pm

Picked up my wheels today from Lepsons (Gillingham branch), very happy with the result.

Had the wheels done in Audi Titanium (L8AU) However I had them finished in Matt Satin, I think it looks much better than Matt and Gloss imo, and also new valves stems added to finish the look.

I had the wheels wrapped in the new GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetics 2 (255/35/19 96Y XL). The tyres look huge for some reason, the most striking different is the 4 huge aquaplane channels the run through the crown of the tyre and also the rim protection (the original F1s Ass never had this). Only problem is, I cannot run 10mm spacers on the rear, it rubs under very mild compression! So spacers are off.

I will let you guys know how I get on with the new tyres and how they compare to the old F1s

Lepsons have a tyre fitting department too now fyi.

Costs, rims slightly more expensive but tyres came out cheap compared to other quotes I had been given.

Wheel refurb inc valve stems, vat and special order paint (L8AU) £432
Good Year EF F1A2 fitted and balanced £916
Total £1348

Will let the pics do the talking.

Looking great there sonny.
So was this another spare set then?
Didn't you have 18's for track plus another set of 19's that were already Titanium ?

Also: Can't you adjust the rear KW's to give more room ?

Yep can adjust the KWs was thinking about raising it up another 5mm all round, will see how this goes.

Still have the 18s track day rims on R888.

This is the only OEM19s I have, I did have them curb side refurbed in 2010, but they started to flake.

Look great, I have used Lepsons & agree are a little expensive but do a great job & look after you well. They also seem to not mark the paint when putting they tyres back so they must take very good care. Mine were done in 2010 and apart from one stone chip & a couple of tyre changing marks are still like new so I think is money well spent. Valves were a good idea, should have had mine done when changed the tyres last year.

Love this car, it looked fab in my rearview mirror when you followed me upto Coventry last week, the ride height is perfect and you made a good choice on the wheel colour.

Cheers for the comments guys. I also coated the wheels in poorboys wheels sealant too makes life easier when washing the break dust off.

Im really liking the look of the tyres cant get over how huge they look, the car looked very phat from the rear with the spacers on.

Sonny

Looks very nice. I am going to use Lepsons Swindon once I have decided which colour to go for. I wonder if this colour would look good on a Sprint Blue avant........?

Cheers
