New wheels fitted. 18"OZ Alleggerita HLT with R888's

Post by sonny » Thu Jun 16, 2011 3:06 pm

My new wheels arrived today. These wheels are exclusively for the track, they are wrapped in part worn Toyo R888s.

Wheel size are 18x9 et25, tyres are 255/35/18s

The wheels are also filled with Nitrogen to keep the tyre pressures at a constant temperature and to lighten them up....OK last bit was a joke.

Wheels are also fitted with a aftermarket TMPS system where I can view each tyres tyre pressure as the day progresses.

I have not yet put them on the car. I will let the pictures do the talking.

Good stuff mate, can you provide some details about the TPMS setup?

When I sold my OE wheels, I sent them buy post to the purchaser & they came up to 21kg with tyre. I'm surprised your new setup isn't lighter than that given the extra inch of wheel diameter
Gone: Audi RS4 Avant, Alpina XD3, Smart Brabus, McLaren 12C,

Just re-weighted them and def 19kg.

Yep OZ are good. These are actually my plan-B wheels. I originally put a order in for the Pro-race-1.2s but there not making any in my size/offset until end of the year, being the impenitent type, I could not wait that long so decided to go for these, a little bit more that the 1.2s :boohoo: I wanted the Ultraleggeras but they dont come int he correct size for the RS4.

haha yaa there 300mm spacers lol

Paint is a Matt emulsion from Sandersan called Mercury, grey/blue shade. I need to redo it. it went weird and started to dry up in parts, you can see the brush strokes.

Cheers :-)

You always get that problem with flat-matt emulsions if the walls/lining paper aren't sealed first.
That's the trouble with many of the modern paints.

Ps. Like the wheel colour too !

Curious. So what's the wheel weight tag about?

The wheel weight tag is the weight of just the alloy, as there for competition use the weight needs to be spot on and not just a guess.
These wheels come with a 20 page instruction leaflet.

Also Spigot rings need to be used.
