A few JHM Parts I was not aware of before

Post by matthew.lewis2 » Tue Jan 18, 2011 9:19 am

I was browsing the www last night (I found out that my bonnet strut has failed and was researching prices), and came across a few goodies on JHM's website that I had not seen / nor seen discussed before. I thought the following may be of interest to the forum.

Upgraded rear diff mount - http://tinyurl.com/4zm8go4

Shifter linkage upgrade - http://tinyurl.com/6yywl3w

Lightweight flywheel and clutch - http://tinyurl.com/5tyc6nk

380mmm front rotor upgrade http://tinyurl.com/68w3ahk

Front upper adjustable control arms - http://tinyurl.com/6z6kuc4

Front upper adjustable control arms - http://tinyurl.com/656omhg

Silicone MAF hose - http://tinyurl.com/4z9pr3a

I was aware of the following parts before-hand but for completeness I thought I would include in this post...

Rear brake rotors - http://tinyurl.com/66e2uu8

Front brake rotors (standard diameter) - http://tinyurl.com/5tcodol

I have not used them (yet), but I plan to install the JHM rotors (not sure whether to go with the standard size or the upgraded 380mm rotors yet) when they next require changing. By all accounts they are very good.

The new MAF pipe was a new one on me.

Also, here http://tinyurl.com/67v5339 would seem to indicate that JHM will have an exhaust offering for the B7 RS4 in the very near future.

Apart from additional heat dissipation, what use are the bigger discs if you do not have bigger pads to match?

Leaverage I think.....the furthur out from hub, the better the stopping power (or so).
I reckon the 380 mm look good as well. Will defo be looking when I need to renew discs.

And if you combine rotors, with pads, possibly short shift and such - the combined postage shouldn't be that bad although dread to think what customs will want>>>

Bigger disks help because they increase the mechanical leaverage being applied. Just like using a longer lever to help lift a mass.

DannyRS4 has them on his car but still hasn't posted any pics up of them!!!!!

They are good value but FedEx / UPS is another $400 plus excise duty @ 20% so end up being slightly more then OEM front discs.

I've got the shifter, MAF hose and diff mount fitted. Waiting for my current pads to wear out before I fit their disks all round went for the 380mm, also going to fit braided hoses with rbf600 fluid. So hopefully should feel an improvement.

I do like the look of the brake discs - much prefer slotted to x-drilled.

There nothing on his site to say that he sells JHM and none of their bits?

Get a free photobucket account, upload and store them there, copy the direct link under each pic and then insert each one using the IMG tab above the reply text box before and after pasting each link..
