Audi Dealers Review Database
Audi Dealers Review Database
shall we start building a comprehensive database based on our experiences?
it can be an ongoing thread everyone would contribute to.
I propose in each description to use this structure, and to be concise to keep this usable and quick
(A) Car Model / Approx Age / Approx Mileage
(B) Dealer name and location
(C) Car issue(s) when brought in
(D) Total time required for repairs (time car had to be left @ dealer)
(E) brief description of the experience
(F) overall rating of the dealer (1-10)
(G) issue(s) fully solved? (Y/N)
(H) would you recommend/return? (Y/N
I think this can become a very useful tool and we can always update is as needed. everyone knows Audi Camberley is great, but what about everywhere else? if everyone takes 5 minutes to detail their last experiences this thread will be really a go-to destination
comments welcome

Good idea,
We have something similar running, not as in depth.

Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
Re: Audi Dealers Review Database
I think it's cooler to have all in one place.
I will start myself, to give the good example
(A) CAR Audi RS4 B7 - 5 yrs - approx 39K miles
(B) DEALER Audi Walton / Walton on Thames
(C) Car issue(s) when brought in
window regulator broken, fuel gauge inaccurate
(D) Total time required for repairs (time car had to be left @ dealer)
10 days due to their own mistake
(E) brief description of the experience
in a word: terrible. the dealer was slow, negligent and difficult to liaise with. window regulator was fixed fine, but whilst repairing the gauge they broke the fuel pump and initially tried to charge me for that.
they finally admitted they had to take that cost, and it took them several days to refund.
they are almost impossible to reach over the phone (they seem to have only one person in charge of customer relationships for repairs), and proved to be extremely unhelpful and stiff and never even apologised for the delays and mistakes.
they also grossly overcharged me for topping up the fuel
(F) overall rating of the dealer (1-10) 3
(G) issue(s) fully solved? (Y/N) still checking
(H) would you recommend/return? (Y/N) NO

Re: Audi Dealers Review Database
Why do it the the RS4 (B7) section ??
Consider moving it to a general section so ALL the other Models can contribute and add to the data

Re: Audi Dealers Review Database
I'd prefer it to be specific to B7 RS4 to keep it focused.
I would contribute but haven't had any faults as such, yet!

Re: Audi Dealers Review Database
Sorry, I didn't see this sooner, should really be a Sticky thread to be most effective, if that's possible moderators?
I would love to go a few steps further than this and get a website going for all Audis as I've had many issues with various dealers spanning the last 10 years, but in the interests of keeping it B7 RS4 specific, I'll contribute here for sure.

Re: Audi Dealers Review Database
(A) RS4 B7/3.5/high 50's
(B) Glasgow Audi
(C) Rich running/smokey on a cold start
(D) Overnight for cold start issue
(E) Fairly poor. Was told that these symptoms were normal for an RS4. Obviously unaware of SW0090 software update.

Re: Audi Dealers Review Database
(A) RS4 B7/3yrs,10mths/60-ish
(B) Glasgow Audi
(C) MOT needed, I wanted to know which software version the car was running, and front disc/pad check
(D) Daytime, roughly 8 hrs.
(E) Free MOT which was fine.
Was told that the software had no 'name' as such.
Wrong. There are various verions between SW0030 and SW0090, SW0090 being specifically to cure issues such as mine.
Told front discs needed replaced, no mention of possible 6mth warranty on these items, just that "yes they're expensive aren't they"...
Also failed to find root of the problem (hubs) as found yesterday at Camberley Audi

(G) N
(H) Only if you want a free MOT (current offer), but not if you want to know anything else about the condition of your car and enjoy spending £1k every 4 mths on brakes.

(C) Blocked rear washer, blown fuse on cigarette lighter.
(D) Couple of hours, I waited.
(E) Fair on this rare occasion.
I was charged £35, but they do deserve a pat on the back for seeing the car at short notice (next day) as I needed these issues fixed before a drive to Denmark. (cigarette lighter for sat-nav power)

Re: Audi Dealers Review Database
(A) RS4 B7/4yrs/62-ish
(B) Cardiff Audi
(C) Check warped front discs & hopefully replace under 6mth disc warranty, advise when service due as indicator saying in 15k, last service almost 20k ago
(D) I left after waiting for approx 3hrs
(E) Pretty terrible.
Refused to replace discs as fitted at an independent specialist even tho discs/pads OEM. This decision overturned later that day by Audi Customer Services (0800 699888) who contacted Cardiff on my behalf.
Cardiff also had said they'd investigate service issue and call me back.
15 days later they'd left one message on my voicemail, Audi CS had called me several times for progress report (nil...)
I got bored and called Camberley who had me booked in there and retrieved all necessary paperwork the same day.
Cardiff also failed to spot the root cause of the warped discs (hubs) as discovered by Camberley Audi yesterday.
Charged me £63 "diagnostic fee" which I'm still waiting to have refunded, as promised by Audi CS. (Glasgow diagnosed warped discs already for free during MOT)
They also advised rear disc/pad replacement, which Camberley have advised against as 5 weeks later the pads are roughly 25% worn.
EDIT: Spoke to Audi CS today who said that Cardiff had been 'considering' offering me a refund for the diagnostic fee, on condition that I sent them the paperwork for the discs. Quite why I would send this to them when Camberley already had the paperwork and had agreed to do the work, I've no idea, but this refund issue seems to be a misunderstanding between myself & Audi CS.

(H) Only if you want to be mucked around by people who don't know how to deal with any issue and don't return calls.

(A) RS4 B7/3.5yrs/50-ish
(B) Camberley
(C) DRC check, service check as service book history mostly missing
(D) couple of days
(E) Great.
Friendly, professional, polite, everything every other Audi dealer should be.
DRC fine. Steering rack bolts (IIRC) investigated, ok, airbox flap replaced under warranty, solenoid replaced under warranty, plugs changed at my request and my cost.
Even gave me a lift to the train station when we realised I'd need to leave the car.

(G) Y. More issues resolved than I knew I had
(H) Y. Absolutely, whenever possible.
