Best filter for my 1999 s3??

Hey all. Was thinking of changing my standard air filter. cone or uprated panel filter??? if so, which make?? will i see nay power gains (its already mapped) what are they like on MAF sensors??

I would get a K+N replacement panel if I were you they are the best quality.IMO
As far as the MAF goes DON'T over oil the filter and make sure you dry it well when cleaning or you will have problems!
Keep it cleaned regularly and all should be OK. I have a pipercross on in mine and have drilled cool side of box.
OK but poor quality compared to K+N but you will pay more for one.
I've had two MAF's in as many years but I neglected filter after first change so i could of prevented it!

Cheers for that mate. just bought a pipercross replacement panel filter (£40), treated myself to a forge quickshift aswell so ill see how things go. thanx again. scott

In my experience K&Ns out of the box kills Audi AFMs, I guess they use too much oil. It's much cheaper to replace the factory filters with new ones than buy new AFMs. Pipercross is better but take S3DAVEs advice. I used Pipercross in my 2.7T Stage II A6.
