S3 spring kit question

Post by RS SYED » Wed Oct 05, 2005 12:45 pm

Hello everybody, Time has come to lower my S3 with a decent set of spring.

Im confused to which one i should go for as there are so many on the market, i.e eibach, spax, H & R etc..

Please could anybody guide me to the right set of springs for my car, and what amount of lowering is recomended.
Id be grateful if anybody could post up some pics of their cars with lowered suspension, stating the mm drop and brand of springs.

Thanks!

Shabs

I had H&R springs which lower the car about 25-30 mm and were very harsh. I now have the MTM/Audi springs from Kim Collins - 20mm drop - looks much better as its not too low and more compliant ride too.

But all of this was with Koni shocks too so cannot comment on standard shocks although Kim reckons the MTM/audi springs work well with the OEM shocks.

I would give Kim a call at QST

I had set of adjustable Bilsteins on mine. Definitely a quality product. I chose not to lower any more than standard, except for the track due to some fairly hefty speed bumps near to where I live. Mine was done by Keith Murray at Dialynx who will certainly be cheaper than Kim.

performance is spot on hard when you wanted it yet soaked up the big blows. very impressed! i think AmD are working with KW's now as the billstiens were pricey but phone an ask! i've had alot of work done with them an there word is gospel if u ask me

Most popular set we do are the H&R springs with H&R ARB's... improves the handling no end!
