S3 Navigation?

Post by marctwo » Tue Apr 06, 2004 1:00 pm

Does anyone have any experience with the factory fitted navigation system in the S3? Is it worth looking for a car with this already or is it better to fit an aftermarket system?

Thanks,

Marc

If I were you mate I'd go for the factory Audi fit navigation. There are posters here who have it.

Audi kit in my opinion is always going to look better than retro fit branded kit.

Look for a car with it.

I wish I had!

i have the sat nav plus.

it neat, tidy, looks audi, and works.

also unlikely to get nicked compared to aftermarket flip out alpine/kenwood equivalents. Due to being intergrated all over the car.

when choosing another audi i would get it if i could find/afford it.

Marc,

The Dell Axim PDA's also have the option of having Tom Tom navigation software.

You wont get a better PDA for the money!

I do like the original Sat nav units fitted in the cars but i personally wouldnt spec one as standard if i was paying for the car out of my pocket. I would go for the after market ones and then if i come to sell the car i can always remove it and refit in the new car. Thats what i have done in my S3 presently. All Pioneer sat nav, DVD, DAB and CD, looks very well integrated. Let me know if u want to see some photos.

Your choice at the end of the day

Cheers

Mo, I would be intrested in seeing photo's. I have got a pioneer MD head unit with DAB and had to get a custom fit piece of MDF made to fit a single dinn head unit in as it came with the double dinn 6CD and tape unit. Have you had something custom fit made?

Very neat!

The one for the screen is the autoleads one and the lower one for the DVD NAV unit is one i made myself, it has the same texture as the centre console unit so it doesnt look out of place.
