Hello S3 owners.

In Jan I brought my first Audi, an S3, and I love it!

About 1 month ago I decided to upgrade to an APR racing 265bhp chip with three programmes, along with a Jetex airfilter. Has anyone else tried this? The performance is great, although distinguishing between programmes is difficult even when stationery.

What things can you suggest that I do next?

Welcome to rs246.com mate
The S3 is one nice little car.... even better with the extra power..... you could consider a exhaust system.... suspension.... brakes... the list is endless really.

Cheers Lads.

Thought about the exhaust, but wasn't sure how much, if any, the bhp would increase. What have you done to your cars?

Do the spacers make the bigger wheels fit better?

Was really looking for more power, is there another cheap/effective way of increasing the bhp like the chip did?

Short and to the point NO there isnt really a cheap opition after the chip to increase the power. On average chip + cat back exhaust u are looking at about 270bhp. If u want more power u are looking at a bigger turbo and there is only currently one company offering this upgrade and it is £7000, others companys are developing theres so prices should fall. But before u even consider bigger turbos the suspension and brakes need to be upgraded and that isnt cheap £1000 for suspension + £1500 for brakes. A cat back exhaust should set u back about £500. So no cheap opitions after the chip.

But before u go looking at more power u would be better getting a good suspension setup that will improve the car dramaticly and would be worth more than extra power.

Good Luck

you need 10mm spacers to clear the Porsche brakes if using 18" RSTT 9 spoke rims because of spoke shape.

no spacers reqired if using 17" avus

I also fitted spacers to fill out the rear arches and bring out the track to match. Its a common thing to do if upgrading to porsche brakes.

Thanks Andy.

I was having the banter with a chap with a TT today, told him about the bhp upgrade and the first thing he mentioned was the brakes. Just thought he was jealous !?!?!?!

Will look into the suspension and brakes, but sounds like i need to save some more money

Having said that though, its still awesome to drive now and enjoy every chance I get to go out in it.

As you can tell, I'm a complete novice.

How much do these porsche brakes cost? Is there any alternatives, if so, how much are they?
