Decat pipe yes or no?

Post by jaiscossie » Mon Nov 17, 2008 5:57 pm

When i brought my s3 the guy also gave me a decat pipe which was in the boot as he just had the car motd the day before so the cats were put back on.Had the decat pipe put on the other day and other then make the car louder i dont really notice any difference? Are there any gains to be had by having one or am i better off putting the standard ones back one. Also is this likely to affect my fuel aconomy? Thanks

I would expect this to make the exhaust more free flowing and allow the gases to escape quicker. Does it not seem to rev easier around 6k rpm? Mine has ran out of steam/too much back pressure around there.

Shouldn't effect economy.
