A few pics of my S3

Post by ChrisRS4 » Tue Oct 02, 2007 6:53 pm

I've been mostly posting on the RS4 forum, but since I own an S3 as well I thought I'd share some pics.

It's running a GT28RS turbo at 1.65bar, putting out about 340bhp. It has most of the usual mods and few little extras. Hope you like :D

Nice car mate, loving the MTM wheels. How does it compare to the RS4?

Cheers! The wheels are 8.5" wide, et35, with 10mm spacers all round. I've always preferred having the wheels filling the arches like that, makes the car look more solid.

The black grille, and the mirror casings, came from a can of Plasticoat from Halfords. It takes a fair few coats of paint and needs lots of sanding. Or you can buy them online but they're not so cheap:

Difficult to compare as they're very different machines on the road. The S3 is far more nimble, and it'll give the RS4 some stick to about 100mph. But the gearbox on the S3 is too short and I find I'm always changing gear to keep the turbo on boost. The interior is partially stripped as well making it a very raw thing to drive. The RS4 is a refined hooligan in comparison.

Cool mate, cheers for that, my rims are 8" wide, will i be able to get away with a bigger spacer at the rear??? i was thinkin 20mm and 10-15mm front???? I mention it as you have wider wheels any way so the extra half an inch will make a big difference. And your right, them grilles aint cheap. lol. Look pretty sweet though, been look for 1 for ages.

Its from Forge, but it doesn't fit too well. ECS and GTTuning make them aswell.

Hahaha, just noticed that. I'll have to move the photos to my own account.
