have been reading a lot about how changing the ARB's on a S4 B6 (using the RS4 variant) can improve the handling. Has anyone an idea of the part numbers required (been mooching on here but cannot find anything definitive) ...been looking on here, spoke to Stoke Audi and they say it depends on which one you go for, the 2006 or the 2002....?? and finally do I have to change the front and back sets at the same time....which would be the preference....?

further to the above...is this the stuff I am looking for...??

RS4 Rear Sway Bar: 22mm
-Non Adjustable
-Solid Bar Construction
-Rear Sway: 8E0511409AM
-Rear Sway Bushes: 8E0511327B (X2)
-Bolts for Brackets: N10127706 (X4)
-Bolts for ARB links: N10528101 (X2)

You will need the brackets for the bushes. The S4 brackets are shorter and are not a perfect fit.

Get the Hotchkis RS4 kit. It's awesome!

thanks guys, just got some pricing back from Stoke Audi and Unit 20....for the amount of driving (and I am not hard driver by any reason) I think I will go with the OEM stuff....£85 inc vat incl delivery vs Hotchkis £450 plus VAT excl delivery)...no brainer really...(unless you really want that reall stiffness that I gather Hotchkis delivers)

Great mod and not expensive.

When you install it ensure that the weight of the car is on all the wheels i.e. don't lift the car and leave the wheels hanging. If you do the ARB rotates when the weight is reapplied and can twist the rubbers etc.

I went to a tyre place where they used a drive on ramp, they loosened my Milltek to access it and then it was an easy swap. They charged me £30 but it was much easier than me trying to do it on car ramps.

Arrived this morning (Steve at Stoke Audi, you area star ).....

So I should fit them using a regular ramp....or one of those ramps that can lift your whole car without touching the wheels....

The wheels must be loaded during installation so a drive on ramp is better. Dangling wheels is a no no

RS4 ARB installed today....plus 8 new coils, sparks, oil and filter, fuel filter, K&N Air Filter...full diag on Vagcom to clear a couple of faults and bloomin hell its like having a new car again, definitely less understeer during my testing.....and "It Breathes...."

Do you guys who have replaced the ARB declare it to your insurers? If so, what sort of premium uplift are you looking at?

I have not declared it. Why would you?

I guess you should, theoretically, as it's a performance modification to the car, so it's no longer stock.

I think the chances of a) having an accident in the first place, and b) the insurance company noticing that it's a non standard part are both small. But the potential implications of them noticing in the event of an accident are pretty huge, so it comes down to whether you'd want to take the risk or pay a small premium on your insurance (depending on the insurer).
