Hi folks after some advice please. I'm looking to buy an S4 Avant hopefully a facelift and had set my heart on one with Bose as my current car has an aftermarket head unit speakers amp and sub but I found a good Avant which does not have Bose ! Does the standard set up have the same number of speakers but without the Bose subs ? I believe the Bose set up has two subs ? What is the difference and is it a big difference ? Also do the standard Audi head units or the Bose ones offer an Iphone connection ?.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I thought all S4's had bose?
Don't suppose you could settle for a 53 plate avant. Got mine up for sale under £10k in the sale forum
Not sure about your ither questions though, sorry

Whats the quality like? I had an s3 without and quality was pretty poor compared to bose.

Quality is fine on mine. Don't really miss not having it at all to be perfectly honest. Although, I would be ticking the box if I were to buy a new S4...

TBH if your after a good setup go aftermarket. The Bose is just OK but nothing special.

Hi,
I wouldn't say Bose is great - there are some annoying frequency blackspots. A track played on your home stereo will revel mdi-frequencies that don't exist with the Bose. This can be annoying.
BTW, I would say the most important option is the RNS-E Sat Nav Plus. You'll find it a lot harder to sell the car later without it.
Regards, Chris.

I agree, the Bose isn't all that. I bought my S4 after a Range Rover Sport and the factory system in that was at least twice as good as the S4. If you're into your music and want it rich, loud and with good definition then aftermarket is the way forward. I took the other route and bought a full exhaust system so all the loud music I need is from the V8

Thanks for the responses, does anybody know if I could plug my iPhone into the Audi (or Bose) head units ?. Also am I right in thinking the Bose adds 2 subs which the standard set-up lacks.

Ditto on the RNSE. When I was looking to buy that was the one thing I wouldn't compromise on. I didn't even consider buying without it

A high end car like the S4 should have built in sat nav AS STANARD. People only opt for tom tom etc because they are miles cheaper.
