Hi I've been reading a few discussions on here about which oil to use and it seems that 5w 40 is better to use than the 5w 30
But evey dealer and one independent specialist i've spoken to all seem to use the long life 5w 30 no matter if your on annual servicing or variable
just wondered peoples thoughts should i provide them with the oil to carry out the service?
thanks in advance
which engine oil?

I use Castrol Edge which is 5w30, but I've heard they may be releasing a 5w40 version soon, so I may try that next time. But Edge 5w30 seems fine, uses very little and runs smooth, but I'm wondering if a heavier oil may quieten down start up rattle abit more
