Brake Warming

Post by sworks16 » Mon Nov 16, 2009 8:28 pm

Just changed my front pads and discs this weekend and had to modify the old sensors to continue the loop as my new uprated pads didn't come with wear indicators.

Now I don't have a warming light when the car is running but everytime i start the car it beeps and flashes up brakes, which is a bit unnerving for passengers who then don't believe me when I tell them the brakes are fine

has anyone got any ideas?

The circuit is (I believe) normally open, only creates a loop when the contacts in the pad have worn enough to touch the brake disc and make a circuit. suggest you remove the loop connection and see if the warning goes away.
