Hi folks,

I collected my black Avant on sunday and can't get enough of it!

It came with the Audi Symphony II /Bose sound system which sounds great. However, i want to connect my ipod and was wondering what the best way to do this is? One of those tape adaptors just isnt going to cut it i'm afraid. Can i go in through the small amp in the right hand compartment in the boot? if yes, then how should i run the cable up to the front? Any advice would be appreciated. I'd love to fashion some sort of dock in the credit card holder, next to the cup holder, but this is maybe asking a bit much.

Next, it came with a hands free kit for a sony ericsson and i have a nokia, but will be getting an iphone soon. its all wired in neatly so i was wondering if I could just change the cradle to accept a different phone? or maybe there are adaptors to allow different phones, as long as they fit the cradle?

sorry, a little off-topic, but I can't wait for June to come so I can get rid of my iphone - complete waste of time..... make sure you know what it can/can't do compared to a 'normal' phone before you commit, fella

A Dension, not sure if the name is correct, can be connected to the back of the radio/cd player and then fed into the glove box. Like I said not sure if it is a Dension but the unit can defintely accomodate an auxiliary item. I had my phatbox connected that way.

Can anyone tell me whether i need an iso 20 pin connection or a quadlock connection? how do i get to the ack of the head unit?

Dension ICE link is the best option for an i-Pod connection and you can fit it yourself or Halfrauds would do it for you..... if you trust them.

A set of Stereo removal keys are a few quid from Audi to pull out the Symphony II unit. Glovebox is retained by 2 bolts, 2 screws IIRC and easy enough to take out the whole unit.

Not sure about the cradle bit, I went along the routs of a bluetooth module in behind the glovbox and cradleless centre console. If you go thios route may as well replce your Symphony II with an RNS-E as they both use a double DIN cage, worthwhile upgrade and then gives you phone book option on screen plus the other usual nav refinements.

My car has a bury handsfree kit installed - will this go into the back of the head unit where i will need to plug in the Dension?
