Clear indicators
Hi
Do all new B7 S4's come with clear indicators now or is it an option?
If standard what date did this start?
Thanks

RE: Clear indicators
Mine is March 06 and the indicators seem clear, you can see a little orange reflection when you look close but I am sure they are clear!
RE: Clear indicators
The orange you see may be the bulb.
We are talking front indicator aren't we?

RE: Clear indicators
I remember seeing somewhere on www.tyresmoke.net when the clear front indicators were introduced (can't find it now though!) and it was only a month or two ago.
IIRC the clear indicators have been made standard on the RS4, S4 and S-Lines - not sure if they're optional on other models.
Until then there was a big round orange lump of plastic glued into the headlamp assembly over a clear indicator bulb. Guys over on www.audiworld.com were putting their headlamps into their oven, ungluing them and pulling the orange plastic off!
I got my RS4 Avant in July and that's got the orange lump of plastic in front of the indicators, but in the garage I've got a pair of new clear headlamps (cost over £750 because I have the adaptive bi-xenons) which I'll fit as soon as it stops raining!
P.S. I've got the Philips Silver Vision bulbs ready to go in, plus extreme white bulbs for the sidelights and DRLs. Oh, and for the front fogs too.

Re: Clear indicators
does anyone know how to get at the indicator bulbs
to swap the orange for silver?
I have had a look and see the 2 x covers but cant seem to get to the indicator and cant see a 3rd light cover.
it is all very tight around the back of the lights, will I need a childs hand?!?

Re: Clear indicators
you dont need to stick them in the oven, i used a hair dryer, its not glue its sealant so they come appart quite easily, de tangod mine the other week. no need to buy new headlights.
to get at the indicators you need to remove part of the arch liner near the headlight and access it there, it just untwists and you swap the bulb then twist back in pace.
