If you want more power then check out AMD's website. They do a supercharger that takes it up to 600+ bhp.

It's only £24k!!

Mines stage 3 which is about all you can do without spending silly money. Even then it's not quite at 400bhp.

What do you want out of it? Also the RS6 may be £10k more but it's a bigger class of car as well.

It would have been cheaper to have bought the RS6.

I feel the same, slight modifications are ok, but to get lots more you need to upgrade more than just the engine, so it's usually cheaper to just buy a faster car in the first place.

Surely though the RS6 engine must be a much cheaper conversion? The block is basically the same, change fuelling, wap some turbo's on, play with ECU, pipework etc and bobs your uncle. If you buy an RS6 engine you could even sell your old S4 engine and re-coup a pile of cash...?

Problem is I'm not sure there is enough room in the S4's engine bay to fit an RS6 engine... I had thought about this a few months earlier but after looking under an S4's bonnet, it doesn't look very good IMHO.... a full RS6 engine swap would be good, not sure how the ECU will like a manual transmission but I'm sure it's not the most major issue with all this...

I am pretty sure there is no room. They had to completley re-work the way the cam pulleys and belts fit in order
to get the V8 into the engine bay.

The RS6 4.2L V8 block is 54mm longer (front to back) than the S4 B6 engine - that's why you can't swap one for the other :-(
