Alternative tyre brand / model for S4

I'm soon to be in need of a full set of tyres and considering using an alternative to the originally supplied Continental boots.
I've found the Conti's to be a little unpredictable in the wet.
Any preferences???

When I come to change I'd short list these;
Goodyear F1's
Pirelli P Zero Rosso
Yoko AVS
Toyo TS-1
Conti's are ok but a bit soft and not too grippy IMHO. I think the Goodyears' would be a good match as a few Audi guys rate them highly

I'd put the Toyos above the yokos for wet grip any day.
And above both of them I'd recommend Bridgstone S02 or S03s.
Imo the S02s outperform the toyos, have a built in rim protector (handy if your wife drives the car ! ), but do come at a price premium.
I've not tried Pzeros for a while, so can't comment on them.
Cheers,
John.

Just had fitted 4 x Michelin Pilot Sport tyres to replace the factory supplied Continentals?
What a difference....Just been out in our current obscene rain here in Cornwall, with large patches of standing water everywhere, the Michelins have completely changed the car's wet weather manners for the better. The lateral grip with these tyres is tenacious to say the least in both 'the wet' and 'the dry'.
Overall road noise has also been reduced.
I'm not sure why Audi would fit such a tyre as Continentals when I can notice such a difference without the ability to evaluate all the brand / models available to Audi...IMO

Had Michelin Pilot Sport 2s fitted to all 4 corners last week as the original Contis were showing quite a lot of wear on the outside shoulders, particularly on the front two. What a difference. Obviously it's hard to compare objectively as the Contis were knackered and the last time they were new was when the car was running in but the Michelins feel absolutely secure in the dry. I haven't had a chance to try them in the wet yet but this is England so the next chance is surely just round the corner (no pun intended).
I was initially going to take issue with Krammer's view about road noise before I realised that the difference is that the Michelins make a higher pitch noise. The stereo test tells me that they are probably actually quieter.
Whatever, I love 'em.

Hi DocB
I think you will be even more pleased about the wet performance, as that was the main reason to change mine.

And the last couple of days have kindly provided the weather to prove you absolutely right!

If anyone is interested, ‘Kwickfit’ are currently selling 4 for the price of 3 on Michelin tyres sets.
I took the opportunity and had 4 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 fitted to our TT as I did with our B6 S4 Avant.
I'm glad to say that I've got the same positive results to report.... even the wife noticed the difference.
Yeeeee Haaaa
