Bootlid

Post by Batfinnk » Sun Jan 20, 2013 12:20 am

May be a stupid question but my bootlid has become a bit of a pita to close sometimes. Take's a good couple of goes to get it to stay shut and today it showed the boot open warning light on the dis even when it was closed and when locking it didn't flash the indicators until I reopened and slammed it shut. Could it be as simple as the lock catch just needs a bit of grease on it? :s4addict:

Avant or saloon? The Avants are known for this, usually the solenoid, especially if the wiper motor has been leaking!

Just had 5 mins spare. Went out and gave the lock catch on the bootlid a few squirts of good old wd-40 and open and closed it a few times. Took a couple of goes but now closes with a nice delicate touch as it should. Also squirted the bootlid hinges while I was there. All lovely now :)
