Just to add to the MPG figures. Last year took my B6 S4 to LeMans. Managed to average just over 12mpg for the whole trip via Newhaven-Dieppe. Will check again next week but this time via Dover-Calais.

I also noticed (well my passenger did!) that the computer was showing just below 4mpg at the end of Shoreham airport runway. My local TVR club hired it last year.

Not sure if you guys saw it, but on the recent Top Gear prog where JC on the Merc/McLaren SLR vs Hamster etc... JC stated that in the Merc, if he kept it at its top speed of 208mph (on the autobahn occifer!), the car would empty a full tank (97.6 litres) in 19 minutes!!!
I did some quick math and came up with a figure of 4mpg!!!!

Yeah saw that, you gotta be one rich son-of-a-bitch to run that thing!

The thing that winds me up beyond belief about that programme is the way that the presenters, during their feature car presentation, will gleefully exclaim "listen to the noise it makes!" whilst a 120 piece orchestra blasts away, completely masking the sound from the car. Anyone else notice that during last week's review of the Ferrari F430?

No. I've had 6mpg in mine from being stuck in London traffic. I wouldn't own my car if I did a lot of town work.
