What's it worth?

Post by dpsoden » Wed Oct 12, 2005 11:31 am

Hi all,

My father has a standard 2003 (53) S4 Estate in Nogoro blue in immaculate condition, see http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/53164.htm

It is in immaculate condition as it hardly gets used and is waxed and polished regularly. It's also pretty well specced with the exception of SatNav. What sort of money should this be making? It's for sale at £29,500 which I think is pretty good value, but I don't know what the market is like for these things at the moment.

Best offer so far is £26.5k - what's the general consensus of Nogaro with Nogaro alcantara? I like it, but is this likely to impinge on the sale?

Thats pretty much the same spec as mine, although mine is 4 months older and has an extra 8k miles on.

From looking at the current market and with the economy as it is, in all honesty, I wouldn't expect to see much more than £28k. My local dealer has 2 up for sale atm, both of which are newer than mine and with lower mileage and they are up for I think £28,500 and £29,500. If a dealer is knocking them out at that price with their 12 months warranty etc etc etc, I seriously doubt a private sale will pull in that kind of money I'm afraid :(

Thanks

I knew £29,500 was optimistic, but since we're not desperate to sell we thought it worth ago. Those dealer ones are worryingly cheap though!

Paid £29,500 for mine back in January, although I got ISOFix fitted, 2 x ISOFix seats, extended warranty and a new road angel included in the price, as well as a couple of nasty scratches and small dents knocked out which they originally refused to do.

Take a look at the Audi website and check out the used car locator. Think most of the S4's on their stocklist are up for between £27 and £31k. My local dealer is Eastbourne and I know the red one was defo still there last weekend as I was in there to get my rad checked.

*edit*

OK just went and checked their website (http://www.caffyns-hailsham.audi.co.uk/ ... /index.jsp) and it looks like they dropped the price.

28k miles and down to just £26995. Mileage is higher than yours, but gives you an idea of what you are up against.
