How have those with the MTEC discs found them after all this time?

I'm considering those after getting a quote of £230 for just the front discs from Audi.

I've also heard good things about Tarox G88 discs but the cheapest I can find those for is about £330 from Demon Tweeks or Larkspeed. I'm not sure the performance improvement over OEMs would be enough to justify the extra £100.

Also, I asked MTEC about the difference between drilled and dimpled and they said:
The discs would be performance part and there would be no difference in the design.

This would be down to your own preference.
I don't really know what that means.

Does anyone else have a comment to make?

I have EBC turbo grooved and dimpled discs with Yellow Stuff pads. According to EBC's bumff the dimple is meant to have a similar function to the drilled hole in that it lets gases escape but being dimpled doesn't weaken the disc like a drilled hole all the way through would.
FYI, I was well happy with this set up until a couple of weeks ago braking from speed I noticed I was getting shudder through the pedal and wheel. The discs have only done like 3k miles. I'm looking into having them skimmed, bit of pita! :(

Thanks for the response.

I've heard that about EBC discs.

I've found those Tarox G88s for £313 now.

I'm thinking about just doing the fronts for now and leaving the rears for a later date.

Possibly with EBC Yellow Stuff pads.

I called Demon tweeks and got Black Diamond discs with Predator pads last April. They had just came out for the S4's. So far they have done me ok, although I feel it doesn't matter what discs or pads you fit, the brake set up on my S4 is not good enough for the weight of the car. Braking from very high speed they do struggle a bit and the initial bite is still a bit duff. In the ideal world, I would want an RS4 set up on the car which I believe is easy to do as all Audi braking is modular. Just the cost which has stopped me so far.

I know what you mean; I looked at a few big brake conversions but they're 2-3 grand.

I think another option is brakes from a Touareg or a Cayenne but they're still a lot more than a basic disc upgrade.
