Cruise retro-fit?

Post by Sijones » Wed Oct 24, 2012 9:51 pm

The cruise "stalks" seem to be available on eBay for about £70. The sellers claim they just need connecting to the ecu and then the ecu reprogrammed by Audi or specialist. Seems too good to be true to me- does anyone know if this is the case? Surely there must be additional sensors to fit etc?

think you need the steering wheel slip ring that it plugs in to then just use Vag Com to enable it, google it there are loads of guides...

Basically you might need a new steering column control module (depending what type yours currently is).
You will need a new lower steering column cover (fairly cheap piece of trim available from Audi).
You will also need access to a Vag Com cable to reprogram your steering column/wheel, your ecu & your brakes to be cruise compatible (or you can take it to a garage, or friendly forum member for them to do it for you).

It's easy enough to do yourself, if a bit scary.
