Major sensor issue

Post by paulyd65 » Sat Oct 29, 2011 8:51 pm

Hi all.

Need a bit of advice. A few weeks ago whilst on business in london, the EML came on. Vancomycin diagnosed it as a faulty clutch pedal switch. Got that placed and a couple if days later, EML comes on again and this time the cam position sensor is faulty. Got that replaced and then a couple of days later, EML light on again and this time the engine speed sensor has failed. Got that replaced last week and the EML light has come on again and this time I have a fault on one of the injectors.

Am I missing something or am I just being very unlucky!

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Cheers. Paul

What, or who, is Vancomycin?

Have you tried hooking it up to a genuine Vag Com cable, or taking it in to a dealer? Just thinking it could be a dodgy diagnosis.

Put the post on using my Ipad and it put in a substitute for Vagcom. Genuine Vagcom used and genuine faults.

Hi All,

Just an update. Had to take my S4 into Audi at Teeside who have diagnosed a cam position sensor failure. Getting that sorted as we speak but hopefully that should resolve the problem.

They however did mention that if this did not fix the problem then it might be the valve chains and timing which is an engine out job. Is this usual? Would youn expect the timing just to go like that!!!!!

Cheers.
