Airbag Light

Post by jimmyca69 » Mon Feb 07, 2011 3:22 pm

Hi all

On my S4 i am now getting a permanent airbag light. It was intermittent and i could reset it via vagcom and it would only appear days later. But now the problem is now permanent. Had a look under seat and checked wiring under cover and couldnt see anything obvious.

Im after any more info from people regarding what exactly to look for under the seat and where those wires go etc so i can see if it is a loose connection.

A guide would be fab (found a very good DIY guide for the brake switch problem and sorted that easily) or at least a guide to the wires to look out for and what colours the connectors are under seat?

thanks

There is a guide on here somewhere about the faulty connector, basically it involves removing the connector and crimping the wires together.

I see you say you can reset it with Vag-com... you really need to read the code and determine what the fault is.

Doh! that would help wouldnt it........

Passenger Side Airbag igniter
Upper limit exceeded

Dont have exact codes as in work, did read before on an american site about the fix for this was loose connection. Also said there was a TSB regarding splicing wires under the seat. Found this http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?2815467 and although its for a VW Jetta looks very familiar. Might be worth looking into if thats what Audi would do or at very least to give me idea what wires are what under seat.

Is that the same kind of thing as guide on here? will try and find it now

Hi,

I've just had exactly the same problem.
All I did was pull the yellow plug under the seat and at the floor socket and re-connect them.
It's been fine for the last week or so.

Regards, Chris.
