17" wheels on S4?

I have a spare set of 17" rims from an old A4, will 17" rims fit over the S4 brakes or is it 18" and larger only?

Don't know if it's a definative answer, but for some reason my spare wheel is a 17" version of my OEM standard 18" wheels and it does fit (just looks a little small!)

Cheers for the info, I have this spare set and was thinking of putting winter tyres on them. What size is the tyre on your 17" spare, is it 225/45 R17?

yes, 225/45 ZR17 91Y to be precise.

Did this get answered - I have an 04 S4 cab with the 18" avus alloys and I'm thinking of getting a set of A4 (B5) 17" avus alloys with a 112 PCD and 45mm offset for fitting with winter tyres - my chief concern is whether they fit over the brakes?
