Fontain have what look likes a cracker of an S4 for sale

http://www.fontain.co.uk/vehicle-detail ... ID=1055140

Does anybody recognise it? Does the AMD tuning put it into B5 RS4 territory?

Thought its a tad high on price/mileage, would like to see 10k miles less and 1-2k cheaper, but if its the right car....

I am sorely tempted to go and view

Price does seem a bit high. Plus it has only got RNS-D not RNS-E sat nav.

£7,000 for 40bhp increase?? Holy crap. Fool and his money........... I think its over priced for that. The fact that someone spent 7k to get that small bhp increase doesnt really add to the fact that your still paying 15k for an 03 plate car with 57,500 miles on the clock.

Just my 2p worth.

They are only offering a 3 month warranty, I believe they are legally responsible for 6 months. Anyway they have had an S4 on there for a while, not sure if this the same one but not a fan of silver leather interior.

I think you may find that there is no 'legal' obligation to supply a warranty on a used vehicle. It does however need to conform under the sales of goods act and be of 'merchantable quality' and fit for purpose. But I am not an expert.

I personally am not a fan of Fontain. Just my opinion.

MORA8,

The vendor is legally obliged to fix any faults identified within 6 months of purchase but do need at least 3 attempts. Obviously if you buy a heap and its sold as heap you can't expect much...

It's on the HonestJohn website under his FAQ's. I unfortunately ended up rejecting a car after 6 months of hassle for a full refund.

Interesting. We are both right. The story I had in mind was of a friend of mine who has just been going through the mill with a Vectra (about £1500 worth) he spoke to trading standards and they told him that the 3 month warranty was a myth. Hence then talking as I did in my older post. Cheers for the link, very interesting.

The situation very much depends on what you buy, whether you pay market rate and what is considered reasonable. I returned a 3 year old S4 for a refund of over £20k.

As a matter of interest what was the problem with the 3 yr old S4?

The main issue was the gearbox, then appaulling paint warranty work, wrong sized tyres and various interior problems. Ended up renting a car for 4 months as I couldn't facing buying another car.
