Interesting to also note that there are not many round on the roads at the moment. I've only seen 2 since launch...so perhaps that's good news for residuals, or they are not selling at all

I haven't seen any on the road yet, although I have seen one being prepped for collection at my dealership.

Given the number of demonstrators for sale on Audi's website, I would say sales are slow (good for my plans, but not good for people who bought new). When the A3 first came out, you couldn't get them for love nor money, and I really had to hunt around to get a demonstrator. Not so with the S4 (albeit different market).

i think you ll find the reason there are not many on the roads is that Audi have alledgedly had a problem with their engine supply. I, having ordered mine (July 4th) was told to wait till mid sept...now its been put off till November. To be honest I really p-oed with Audi.

I think that must be true. When I ordered my S4, I ordered the dolphin gray with extras etc. first I was told it would be 8-12 weeks delivery ... After 6 weeks I was told that Audi had a problem and delivery would be another 8-12 weeks on top of the original ... possible 24 week delivery ... Fortunately Guildford Audi had a Blue one in stock ~ New and other than the colour all the toys ( and more ) that I wanted ....

Yep, similar problem for me. About a week before the anticipated delivery date, the dealer told me that Audi were having difficulties sourcing the chain drive, which seemed possible as most of the rest of the engine has been in production for some time now. Of course it may just have been flannel
I wasn't hit that hard in the end as the car was only about 3 weeks late but it's frustrating when you've already had to wait 12 weeks in the first place.
Hope yours arrives soon

Didn't mean to imply that 12 weeks was a long wait. We all know that much longer ones are out there, your wife's being a case in point. Just that when you've been looking forward to something for the best part of three months, to be told with a few days to go that it will be delayed for another two or more months is something of an anticlimax.

A real bummer
I think the VAG group need to get their delivery/production a little more sorted on their new models. Maybe it is a deliberate ploy to increase the desire by intentionally restricting the availability ?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if that wasn't at least a part of the reason but they need to be careful not to upset their customers too much as they might decide to go elsewhere in future

Well that's nothing compared to BMW. When the M3 first came out in 2001 the waiting list was a minimum of 12-18 months so alot people had very long waits indeed.

Sometimes it really pays off to put your name down as soon as you hear about a new model that takes your fancy. I waited 2 and half years for my M3CSL

All Audi's are imports - they don't manufacture in the UK

I'm new here so hi!
But just 3 weeks and I am going to be the proud owner of a new 2004 S4 Black Avant full options near enough (lol toys)

Can't wait! Lets hope this stays on the road longer than my S3
My cars from the last year;
Golf GTi 150 51 plate
S3 Black 02 plate 6k smashed into by a landrover (write off)
Impreza for fill in till S4 Arrived (had it less than a month stolen) standard 01X mica blue (had to own one)
Renault Clio 1.5DCi 80 Dynamique 52plate (as a run around for S4 but decided sod it, I'll get a plasma tv insted) lol
Well thats me!
Audi called me the other day and said u car will be 8 weeks is about to go into production (or something like that) but in 3 weeks you can have a cancelled order S4 same spec and colour as what you wanted but with more options yours for £3000 more! :O Outraged I was by price increase but then I saw the optionlist and I will soon be the proud owner!
