dump valves

I purchased a pair of bailey dv30 recirc valves for the s4
When I installed them and went for a spin I cannot hear them dumping at all
the stock ones (710a) I could hear no problem
this does not bother me but I thought it was strange
the car doesnt feel any different power wise
Also when I took the old valves off I can blow through them from charge pressure side to vacuum pipe, the bailey ones I cannot
Is that normal?

you should be able to test them with a hand vacuum pump and see the valves actuate.
If they don't hold negative pressure then they are mullered.
