Hi all just got a oct 2000 s4, it was taken in against RS4 by local garage i fit trakers for, i feel the s4 would be a great car for work as i get mileage from customers. i have a couple of questions car has done 116,000 with full audi history, it pulls well in 1st 2nd but if you are cruising along in 6 put it into 5 or 4 at say 70 open her up she picks up speed rather than accelerates. I had a vectra 2.5 all over me and i was trying, i changed the air sensor had the codes read only code boost pressure so i removed the inlet pipe and rigged up an airline i can here hissing offside front below headlamp. I have had turbo cars in the passed and boost leaks are normally easy to here when driving not in this case, if there is a leak here what do i need to remove?
If this is the problem do these car respond well to chipping when running right any other things i should look for with the car if possible i would like to keep it, i just sold my e36 m3 which was a complete money pit !

the hissing you hear is probable one of the connect pipes on the intercooler or more hassle maybe a slightly damaged IC. you can get a look at it by removing the grills either side of the bumper. If you have to replace the IC its bumper off. not as hard as it seems. leaks are not good for the kk03 turbos you have, its worth spending time getting this sorted before you thrash it to much.

if you have a damaged IC pm me, i have one and not worth selling. The MAF can be another reason for bad performance and a common issue with these cars. You sound quite handy with cars so probably worth you getting a vagcom cable to check error codes etc.

These cars love ecu mapping, many option available but the MRC tuning are regarded as leaders in the area

the grill acts as a vent for the ic, the path should be clear to the ic. you should see a grey shroud channeling air to the ic, move plastic and feel with your hand. Not sure what the plastic is, maybe the shroud is pushed up.

If it only "pulls well" in 1st and 2nd and you were unable to show a crappy Vectra a very clean pair of heels you have a problem. There are many on here who would be happy to run Vag-Com over your car I'm sure. I certainly would be if you are near Cambridge.
